Smoked Mackerel Pate

One of my favourite pates and a great way to introduce fish to those who can be fussy when it comes to seafood

Smoked Mackerel Pate

Lots of people love Smoked Mackerel Pate, even those who aren't keen on fish. It's a great with warm chunky bread or even a side of chopped veg. Much healthier than shop bought dips and super quick and easy to make

Ingredients

  • 225g Smoked Mackerel
  • 50g Butter
  • 100g Cream Cheese
  • 1 Lemon Juiced
  • 1tsp Horseradish
  • Chives small bunch thinly sliced (optional)
  • Black Pepper

Directions

  1. Take the flesh of the smoked mackerel and place in a blender
  2. Add remaining ingredients to blender leaving out chives and being generous with black pepper
  3. Add more cream cheese if creamier texture is desired
  4. Stir through chives at the end
