Sticky Chicken Wings and Tings

This recipe is a great way to bring the BBQ effect indoors. You can make the marinade up to 4 days ahead and it can double up as a dipping sauce!

Sticky Chicken Wings and Tings

  • 12 Chicken Wings or Thighs
  • 2tbsp Honey or Maple Syrup
  • 2tbsp BBQ Sauce
  • 1tsp Smoked Paprika
  • 1tbsp Tomato Paste
  • 1tsp Chilli Flakes
  • 1tsp Cayenne Pepper
  • 1tsp Garlic Powder
  • 3 Garlic Cloves crushed
  • 1 Red Chilli diced
  • 3tsp Ginger grated
  • 2tbsp Teriyaki Sauce
  • 1tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 1tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 2tbsp Thyme


  1. Heat oven 200℃
  2. Place all ingredients in a large bowl and toss to coat
  3. Line a baking tray with baking paper and place a wire rack in the tray
  4. Place wings in a single layer on the wire rack
  5. Bake in the oven for 40mins or until cooked through (internal temp 75℃)
  6. ( For a grilled/bbq effect, take wings out of the oven 5 mins early and char them on or under a hot grill for 1min or so each side or until slightly blackened)

This recipe is also fab with a ‘Homemade Blue Cheese Dipping Sauce’… !
