Vietnamese Beef Salad

Trying to recreate an insanely good Vietnamese Beef Salad I tried in Brixton! This dish is full of flavour and has so many colours and textures. The marinaded steak alone would be great served with some steamed rice!

Vietnamese Beef Salad

    For The Salad
  • 2 Steaks
  • Handful of Tomatoes Chopped
  • 1 Red Onion Sliced
  • Spring Onion Sliced
  • 3 Handfuls of Lettuce Leaves
  • 1/2 Cucumber Sliced
  • 1/2 Red Pepper Sliced
  • 1/2 Yellow Pepper Sliced
  • 2 Fresh Chillies Sliced
  • Bean Sprouts
  • Toasted Sesame Seeds
  • Handful of fresh Coriander Leaves
  • Handful of fresh Mint Leaves
  • Dried Onion Flakes
  • Handful of Peanuts Chopped
  • For Marinade
  • 1/2 cup Fish Sauce
  • 2tbsp Honey
  • 1 Garlic Clove
  • 3 Limes Juiced
  • 1 Chilli
  • For Dressing
  • 6tbsp Fish Sauce
  • 4tbsp Lime Juice
  • 1 Garlic
  • 3tsp Honey
  • 2 tbsp O Oil


  1. Blitz your ingredients for the marinade
  2. Marinade the steaks for at least an hour
  3. Slice all your lovely fresh salad ingredients
  4. Blitz the ingredients for the dressing
  5. Heat a griddle and sear your steaks 1 min each side (rare)
  6. Take the steaks off the heat and allow to rest for a couple of mins
  7. Slice the steak
  8. Throw all the fresh salad ingredients together
  9. Drizzle the salad with your homemade dressing
  10. Scatter over dried onion pieces, toasted sesame seeds and peanuts!
